In a 2012 conversation between the FBI and Scotland Yard intercepted by an anonymous hacker, the city was referred to as a “khazi” – slang for toilet. Scotland Yard informed the FBI: “You’ve missed nothing, it’s not exactly a jewel in England’s crown.

”It’s a description that seems at odds with what is statistically the country’s greenest city. A city that has more trees per person than any other city in Europe and a third of which lies within a national park.
