When the white stuff finally comes the majority of the population struggles to deal with it.
Something which is common place in much of the world, results in the UK's public transportation to break down, it's road networks close or become heavily congested and the schools to close down for long periods.
These images represent a stillness amid the chaos, a contrast to what happened when the UK saw the biggest snow fall in nearly 20 years and the expected panic set in.
