This is the first time in a while I’ve actually been excited about a publication running my work.

In the past the usual stories have been running work without my approval, not attributing it to me, assigning incorrect captions, terrible cropping or even (and god forbid) cutouts, or even attributing my work to that of other photographers or agencies.

Newsweek Japan however was a completely different story. They consulted with me along each step and even sent the layout over for my approval.

It reminded me of the tales of the “good old times” we were told about in college.

Living in an area of the UK which is prone to flooding it means It’s highly weather¬†dependent¬†at times, but most importantly it’s a seasonal event. This means, while I’m itching to shoot more material, I simply can’t until late spring/early summer.

Regardless of this I’ve decided to present the project in it’s current unfinished state, which I will be adding to in due time.

I’m currently working on several pieces, some of which will be published on this site and some on statementimages.co.uk (which if you are not familiar with is a photography collective that I am part of).

For the first time I’ll be working with video, although I will be treating these projects a little differently. Some will consist of news based footage, an almost stop gap between short documentaries and news reports, and others will be an almost moving image photograph if that makes sense?

In our first series we’ll be exploring alternatives lifestyles.

Stay tuned for more updates.
