Although the term "Zoophilia" is often used to refer to sexual interest in animals, it is not necessarily sexual in nature.

The common feature of zoophilia is some form of affective bond to animals beyond the usual.

Non-sexual zoophilia is generally accepted in society, and although sometimes ridiculed, it is usually respected or tolerated.
